Update on Early Adopter Projects for ByDesign/Concur Integration

Hi,

I receive frequent questions on the status of our Early Adopter Program for the SAP Business  ByDesign / SAP Concur Expense (Professional Edition) integration.

Here is what you need to know.

What happened so far?

End of 2017 we started engaging with customers that volunteered as early adopters (EAs). We had a list of EA applicants in the lower double-digit range. Out of this, we created a short list with 10 customers which we considered a best fit. Eventually we kicked-off the first EA projects in December 2017.

The collaboration with our first EA clients is both very productive and fruitful. We have already received valuable feedback how to enhance our integration solution to provide our clients with more flexibility in the exchange of master data.

Please note: The flexibility features in the area of master data exchange are currently in evaluation by our development colleagues. Thus, currently,  we cannot guarantee that early adopters will be able to use the integration in their productive Concur tenant. Making the integration run in the early adopter system – a  tenant copy of the early adopters’ productive Concur tenant – still needs a case by case assessment of the individual situation.

What are the next steps?

We are close to kicking off the next EA projects.

Furthermore, we would like to especially encourage those of you being live with SAP Business ByDesign and in the midst of their first Concur implementation project  to reach out to us at SAPConcurIntegration@sap.com, should you be interested in being an early adopter. For functionality and boundary conditions, please watch this video on our Youtube channel.

Why this new call to action? While we were taking applications for the EA phase it was interesting to see that mostly existing Concur and ByDesign clients were interested in this EA program. SAP Business ByDesign customers going for a new Concur implementation, however, were not. Still, for us it is essential to gather experience for both types of implementations.
Especially, since considering the integration in an early stage of the Concur integration project helps to streamline the configuration in Concur. This reduces the time to go-live with the ByDesign/Concur native integration.

Best regards
Otfried

SAP Strengthens Enterprise Asset Management Portfolio with Strategy and Performance Management

WALLDORF — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced the release of SAP Asset Strategy and Performance Management to enhance asset intelligence across the digital supply chain.

The new application helps customers define, plan and monitor optimal maintenance strategies for physical assets and monitor performance data across a network of connected assets in real time.

Using SAP Leonardo Internet of Things (IoT) technology, SAP Asset Strategy and Performance Management connects assets and ties asset management into core business functions, such as maintenance management, manufacturing, finance and human resources. It enables criticality assessments and segmentation of assets to help organizations choose a decision framework, such as failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), for the optimal maintenance strategy for an asset or assets.

“The latest addition to our enterprise asset management suite provides unparalleled insight across connected asset environments, which is crucial for success in the converged, new world of physical and virtual assets,” said Dr. Tanja Rueckert, President, IoT & Digital Supply Chain at SAP. “Asset management is crucial to any IoT and digital supply chain strategy, and with SAP’s holistic suite, both equipment providers and operators can streamline business operations and fully execute on digital transformation strategies.”

SAP Asset Strategy and Performance Management is the latest addition to cloud solutions for asset management from SAP, which include SAP Asset Intelligence Network and SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service. The suite shares the same underlying data and architecture, offering a single easy-to-implement cloud solution tightly integrated to the SAP ERP application and SAP S/4HANA.

SAP Asset Intelligence Network allows customers to maintain digital twins of physical assets and make them available across networks. The digital twins can be managed across the asset lifecycle, including design, manufacture, sale and operations. This streamlines and automates business processes across the organization, reduces cost and time to market, and enables new collaboration.

SAP Asset Strategy and Performance Management works with SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service to provide real-time insight into asset history, performance, condition and cost. Organizations using the solutions can optimize maintenance, define best strategies for capital investment and risk management, improve customer service and avoid costly disruptions.

BI+Analytics Conference Agenda Text Analysis Review #BIAConf

Next week is the BI + Analytics Conference in Huntington Beach, California.  Earlier in January, I downloaded the conference agenda and did some quick text analysis to see what the top topics were in the agenda. I’ve done similar text analysis before a previous iteration of this conference here.

Top 2 word expressions include SAP Mentor, Product Manager, Product Management – this is no surprise as SAP Mentor Ingo Hilgefort has several sessions including
