Reality Check: Extending the Value of On-Premises CRM Software

ICYDK: As an enterprise software professional, I’ve known for a half-dozen years that software is eating the world — and I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone question where all that hungry software “lives.” Most people assume it’s in the cloud. Well, not quite. The Uptime Institute’s 2016 Data Center Survey indicates that 65 percent of enterprise workloads are running in data centers owned or operated by those enterprises, just about the same amount as in 2014.

In other words, there’s no question that software is eating the world. It’s just that a lot of it is still on-premises. For enterprise IT organizations, that presents both challenges and opportunities to extend the value of these software investments. https://goo.gl/tqRqoh #DataIntegration #ML

Wearable Technology May Boost Wellness, but Be Careful

ICYDK: As new technology for wearable devices emerges, organizations are finding uses for these tools in corporate wellness programs that go far beyond counting employee steps. Artificial intelligence (AI), sophisticated sensors and ultrasonic tracking are now part of devices worn on wrists or apps on smartphones that can track everything from blood glucose levels to heart arrhythmias to the nuanced hand movements people use when eating or drinking. But as the use of wearables for wellness expands, legal concerns also grow regarding employee privacy issues and how the data generated by wearables will be used and kept secure. https://goo.gl/WBFJqy #GlobalHR #HRTech

3 Steps to Drive Proactive Talent Acquisition

ICYDK: The world’s largest chemicals company found itself navigating the evolving talent landscape with an outdated approach. The U.S. recruiters at BASF were often reactive and inconsistent, relying on the inadequate “post and pray” method, explained Yana Kogan, talent attraction strategy manager at the North American affiliate of the global company, headquartered in Florham Park, N.J. Speaking to attendees at Indeed Interactive 2018, a conference for recruiting professionals held recently in Austin, Texas, Kogan and her colleague Bill Plastine, talent acquisition manager, outlined how BASF overhauled its approach to talent acquisition last year, transforming the recruiters from passive order takers into strategic partners. https://goo.gl/xTx3FM #GlobalHR #HRTech
